lyrics
Story time, regarding the video for this track.
"I filmed this a few years ago whilst on an eerie, misty 5am walk home from work through industrial areas near my house. I got footage for a couple other videos from this walk, got propositioned by 'a lady of the night' and her 'chaperone', shall we say! I heard gunshots in the distance, and generally felt pretty uneasy, but, also emotionally high as fuck through exhaustion, because I'd been working a hardcore rave night for 12 hours with flashing lights all around me and partaking in several intoxicants myself during the night."
I was listening to the almighty trippy ambient lords, Radio Massacre International. I really hope there are some people reading this who even know of this band. The soundtrack of their music with all this made my mind feel even more 'out there', so, making this hour long walk home after all that was intense, surreal, somehow meaningful, and I am glad I managed to make something else with it.
I did feel that, if ever there was a night I was going to get abducted by aliens, this was going to be it! I tried to reflect that in the overly colourful video as well. The whole idea that there is something else out there, and that you also are never quite sure where or when or how or why the next 'big' moment in your life will come (hence the title 'The Integral Moments Of Existence').
Musically, the main sounds are all made with bass and some after effect manipulations, and the 'drums' are me tapping on my table and laptop because I am (still now) not very good at drum programming or playing!
It feels good to be able to tell the stories linked to releases and videos. I should have done more of that at the time of release, and, even if nobody really cares, at least it will serve as a reminder to me decades down the line when I can't remember my own name, but maybe the stories will trigger these memories.
