1.	Gangráðr - The One Who Knows The Way 03:31	lyrics
This track and title continues on from OWL108, which talked about 'Thunderous Thor...', which is a further reason I decided I had to put this release out right away.
2.	Finding Solace In The Tiny Piano Ragtime Blues 02:26	lyrics
I remember watching the Scott Joplin biography film when I was a little kid, because I already liked his ragtime piano songs. The song 'Solace' made me shiver, get goosebumps, feel like I wanted to cry, for no reason other than it is incredibly emotive. I didn't really understand how sounds affected me like that, but they always have. I also love The Sting film from being young, so I suppose this is what solidified the theme in the title after listening to the track a few more times.
3.	When The Monster Reveals Its Inner Beauty 04:19	lyrics
Imagine Dracula or Frankenstein('s monster) or some other creatures from beyond appearing, for real, right next to you, right now. This would be their entry music, but all they are doing is bringing you your favourite food and saying you look lovely today... which you do, by the way. I hope this makes you laugh as much as it does me.
4.	Stories From The Past That Hold The Future Together 03:20	lyrics
As much as it is painful at the time, when you are strong enough and far enough away from grief, despair, upset, loss, mental delirium; look back on it and be thankful, to yourself for having the courage and strength to keep on going, and for what you've learned from it to take into future battles. For me, this centre piece is the glue that holds this train-of-thought, impromptu, pure expressionary release together.
5.	The Millipede Danced On The Frozen Lake 01:45	lyrics
Of course, the millipede had contact mics strapped to its back, otherwise you wouldn't be able to hear it!
6.	Welcome To The Rest Of The Journey 03:07	lyrics
This felt grand enough to be the theme tune for what has become a new phrase and phase recently. It's been feeling like it was time to do things differently for a while; better, faster, less complicated and spontaneous, more epic and emotional, more introspective, retrospective about what I've learned, extrospective about the universe around me, something needed to progress. I don't know what, maybe all of the above! So, I guess we shall see together what takes shape over the coming years. Thank you for being here.
7.	Liquids Seen Dropping From The Owl Cluster 04:20	lyrics
Making this today made me discover that there is something called The Owl Cluster up there in that overwhelmingly infinite space! I searched 'Owl in space', and NGC 457 was shown to me (which was made even more apt by the fact that NGC 4889 exists on OWL2 and OWL36, and the new version of it will be on THE OWLS full band recording soon ('Magnitude') https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/NGC_457 https://www.deepskycorner.ch/obj/ngc457.en.php

This is my musical diary entry for Saturday June 10th, 2023; being played, conceptualised, checked and released all on that day. Each track was improvised and in one take. Just me and a mini synth, seeing what entertains and enthralls me on this particular day.

I have been needing to find a new way to satiate the creative cravings that continually crawl around my cranium, and these 'suddenly drowned in waves of inspiration' bursts could be the answer.

The titles hopefully paint enough of a picture to add an extra dimension to each piece, and there are further insights in the 'Lyrics'. Big thanks to all those who listen closely.

There was temptation to flesh out ideas, add layers, build up to the release, make a video, do it as a split or put it onto tape; but after a few listens once it was compiled, it just felt absolutely right as it was. Hitting Publish on the day and telling a few understanding friends and music seekers is more than enough for me; but just because it was quick and improvised doesn't mean I'm not immensely proud and pleased with this. I wouldn't put anything out there if it felt wrong or bad. In fact, this one really makes me smile, a lot!

Doing it all on the day proved to myself I can let go of things quicker and not tie myself in knots for months or more over every single miniscule detail. Some releases will still take years and be grander productions, but it feels like the low key, stripped back and down to earth efforts are just as important to me now. The freedom it grants is incredibly important.

So thank you for stopping by to give this day's sonic statement a look and a listen. I hope you will enjoy. This is genuinely for you; those who 'get' what The Owl project is for me.

P.S. The title is meant to translate as 'Dungeon Owl', if you wondered!
