The story of how this split came to be is pretty interesting, and I hope whilst listening you will read how it was born, how it developed and the conclusions we both drew from this release's journey.
You can feel you've known a person and their work for many years, such is the depth of sound and feeling that you find in just one listen and the sharing of a few stories of what they enjoy and take from the world as they walk within it.
You can feel that your own work and your own arrival at a certain destination in life is surprising, until you really sit back and think about the many events that bounced you into that place or that thought process or that creative moment that sparks off a new piece (be it music, art, writing or anything else).
I think our two parts are a great representation of the players behind them, and I hope you take as much pleasure from listening and looking in on our worlds, as we have in talking about life and conceiving these sounds and the aesthetic that wraps around them.

--- 'The Story From An Owl's Perspective' ---

In July 2022 I became a fan of Quatrefoil's 'Infrapacific' album discovered through Adventurous Music, a label I later made 'Dobrodružný' for, which was released in November 2022.
I was to play Noise Fest in Brno in March 2023; and Marko emailed me prior to this, saying he was able to attend, traveling up for the weekend from Croatia.
We continued messaging in the meantime, then chatted at the show about music processes, field recordings, life, travel. Our time in Brno subsequently inspired conversation that morphed and birthed the idea and the sonic, visual and written components of this split.
The Owl half was made 14.8.23 using several video recordings (from 6-10.3.16 that I refound in 7.23) as the starting blocks for the two pieces. The phone videos were captured on various travels to different cities than my home; arranged in Reaper, with added Arturia synth, piano and voice, then added to and EQ'd in Wavepad.
The Quatrefoil tracks were partly inspired by my set and the day generally at Noise Fest, plus the rest of his stay in Brno, and it was made with field recordings, guitar, piano and voice between May and July 2023.
My part was inspired by Marko's two songs, as well as 'the journey aspects' of life, sounds, our own minds and how connections form at times you don't expect, and in many more ways than you might realise if you don't stop to think about them.
