8 simple, silly, catchy songs in 6 minutes, that I hope will get devoured by your ear worms and repeated back to you many times. I am nervous to release this, but there's a story (several in fact) about how and why this recording exists (it's interesting, I promise, I think!).

On September 16th, me and Blanka played with Marne in Praha at Riot Over River. We stayed for half the day, then she had a rehearsal with Miss Marple and their new drummer, and THEN we stayed out and celebrated her birthday.

Silly conversations and many 'That's a song / album title', 'That's a band name' comments later, my brain was inspired. Blanka has a toiletries bag with owls on it that I saw upside down, and it looked like 'Cats In Big Hats.... that's a song title for sure!'

We stayed at Jiří's that night, and Miss Marple had another rehearsal the next day (as the drummer had traveled over from Brno), so whilst they did that, I stayed in Jiří's flat, picked up his acoustic guitar and jammed for 45 minutes. 'Cats In Big Hats EP' is the result.

It was all improvised. I recorded it into my phone. There is no synth or orchestra or choir, at the time or overdubbed later! I should have sang louder or closer to the phone, or maybe I shouldn't ever sing (it's not something I do very often!), but, weirdly I am rather proud of these 'little ditties' as they would be called... and now, I feel I actually have an extra reason to release them...

There's a picture on the first track, 'Cats In Big Hats' (did I say this enough yet? Let it ferment in your brain a bit longer...!) of me and Gigi hanging out a few years ago. Each track has an image and lyrics as well, so these songs can be injected further into your hippocampus.

Ideas for follow-ups include 'Hats On Big Cats', 'Dogs With Big Knobs', 'Kočky s velkými klobouky' and 'Giraffes?! What?', but maybe it will be best if this is the only time I do this. Serious music will return next...
