This is from a bonus collection made from the submitted tracks to Shadowlands and Noisembryowl over on Owlripper, that were either not quite right in style for the compilations they were intended for, or sent in too late, but I still found them interesting and wanted to put them out there somehow.
Once the Shadowlands #2 and Noisembryowl #3 compilations were complete, I noticed a few of the extra tracks seemed to fit together really well, and so I set about arranging all of them and was pleased with this 71 minute collection that came to be.
'Battle' is my track on this compilation is one that was started for the Shadowlands compilation, and returned to a few times, but I couldn't make it work. I decided then to make it go from very quiet to loud, but it didn't fit the noise style on Noisembryowl, so in those senses, it now fits here, and felt like it worked as a closing piece for this album.
The tune kinda ended up a mix of Jean-Michel Jarre and Vangelis meets Merzbow and Morbid Beauty!
The video is made from the scene I got the sample from, in a film called Battle of Warsaw 1920.

Remix of an incredible song from my still-favourite black metal album of all time 'Pentagram' (entitled the 'Crushed Into New Pieces' remix)
I did this for the Owlripper 'Howls Into The Void #2' black metal compilation. As mentioned on the Captain Beefheart track about remixing, I like to dive right inside the sounds and see what I can pull out of there, and what else I can add, layer up, distort, bash into different pieces.
This one is deliberately much noisier than the original, so, imagine you're listening to this on a bootleg tape back in the early 90s that's done the rounds in different countries to get to you!
I've expanded on the structure of the song some more... plus done some of the usual Owl oddness to it as well, of course. A few explosions and dissonant harmonies added, with a dark ambient ending after the intensity.
I hope you will give this chance to do what it does, because I am actually really pleased with the expansion of this magnificent song.
The video I made uses footage from their London gig back in 1995, which I was at; and I am sure this version will upset a lot of the black metal purists or elite, but, isn't that the whole point anyway?
I know this is Pest doing vocals on the video, and Hat did it on the record, but, it seemed most relevant to use this particular video. Their set was utterly crushing, and the gig was along with Cradle Of Filth (who were still good then) and Primordial (who replaced Enslaved who were originally on this bill, and this was at the time of the Imrama album, for me by far their best still).

When I was a child, I had a fever fuelled dream about futuristic bees, in a world of robots and oddly shaped and colourful buildings and transport.
I was already a bit of a misanthropist and loner kid, and had a bad outlook about humans, which must have aided this dream, because the robotic humans were intent on getting rid of the robot bees, not realising their importance in the world.
So now in 2022, robot bees are a reality, after the human(un)kind has depleted bee colonies around the world over the last few decades.
This is the soundtrack to the Humans Vs Bees battle and a reminder from the future, from inside my fever drenched child mind.
