No Time To Rest! OWL81! A hyperactive 14 track 75 minute mosaic of scatterbrain noise / experimental / electronic / warped / collage ideas, darting around in all directions at the same time. Moving along at a frenzied pace for the most part, with histrionic noises vying for your attention; there are hints of method and methodical moments in the madness that comes with sticking around for the journey.

The third in these Owl In The Noisy Sky collections, bringing together tracks made for compilations and remixes for other people's albums.

I tried many combinations for the tracks, and feel it tells an interesting sonic and conceptual story to those willing to sit down, get comfortable and allow the musical words to fill their ears and brain.

I'm sincerely grateful to those who peer in around the edge of the door at what is inside this particular room, and dish out massive hugs and handshakes of just the right length and strength to those who take in the whole trip.

1. Remix of an old track of mine, released on the first INCANDESCENCE album I did in 2004.

2. Original sound source was me tapping the Space Bar on my laptop and manipulating it, a lot! Made for Paracelsian Productions 'Arcade II' compilation.

3. I did a Morbid Beauty remix of the Ukrainian National Anthem, then sped that up and worked on those new sounds for this track for the <1 / Less Than One Ukrainian benefit compilation.

4. Institute For Alien Research ‘Cut Up Sound Colage’ 4’33” compilation. Track made using all 20 tracks of OWL65 'An Owl In The Noisy Sky'; each one sped up to 2 seconds and arranged next to each other, the resulting 40 seconds was tickled, pushed over, thrown around, turned upside down and inside out, pitched, looped, layered, crunched and glued into the 4'33 collage you hear now.

5. Owlripper ‘Blastbeats’ compilation. The entire ‘World Extermination’ masterpiece by Insect Warfare remixed by speeding it up to 1 minute and the resulting sounds stretched, bashed, hit with sticks and looped until this new ‘thing’ was born.

6. Paracelsian 'Space Exploration' compilation. Some of this track was from an unfinished Incandescence piece of mine from around 2009 that never quite found a home and was expanded on for this, because the sounds feel like they are drifting through space. I had to use the Ren & Stimpy image for this!

7. Paracelsian 'UFO VIII / Aliens' compilation. I was tinkering with synth plug-ins on Reaper when I saw the event page for this compilation, so I used those alien-esque sounds as the basis for this.

8. 22 (seconds) / 7 (tracks) = PI, which is 3.14 etc
Mike Benoit invited me to make a track as part of his interesting Chain Mail concept. My initial sound source was made using the 7 previous tracks in 'the chain'. Each of those tracks were sped up to 22 seconds in length, layered on top of each other, creating a brand new sound which you can hear in the first 22 seconds of the track.
I then manipulated, pitched, layered more, found loops within those sounds to expand upon, until I had a 4 minute 52 seconds track that I felt was finished, and put it on the end of the original 22 seconds, to equal 5 minutes 14 seconds, or 314 seconds.
That was my slice of the Pi!

12. <1 / Less Than One compilation 'NTWRK01'. Initially another Incandescence track WIP 'Fractured', this time from 2006, that got finished but never fully released.

13. Owlripper compilation celebrating 40th anniversary of the release of Koyaanisqatsi, made using the entire 81 mnute 28 second film soundtrack, sped up to 1 minute, and given The Owl treatment!
